Get to know us better by reading these helpful and fun facts about Guided Hope.  If you still have questions, do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to serving you.

Who can come?
All are welcome to attend. We expect that all leaders and participants abide by our ranch rules of conduct. We serve all children, teens, and families whether they have experienced challenging circumstances or simply wish to strengthen their families through shared time and serving on the ranch. We do reach out to families going through grief, military service, foster, adoption, and medical hardships, but all are welcome who wish to come.  Click here to learn more about Our Mission. We desire to share God’s amazing creation and the saving hope we have in Jesus Christ. Grandparents and extended family are welcome, also.

Can I bring a friend of the family?
Yes, if you have a friend that would like to join your family for the day for a Family Roundup, he or she is welcome. However, a parent/guardian will need to be present for any horseback riding.  A waiver giving permission to the attending adult together with a handwritten signature by the parent/guardian will need to be sent along with the participant found at Guest Registration and Liability Release.  We encourage the whole family to attend as they are able for the unique benefits of a shared experience together.

What do we do when we get there?
Our activities focus on work, education, play, and service! You can feed goats, groom horses, pet rabbits, gather eggs, horseback ride, etc. Everyone is asked to participate in the growth and maintenance of the ranch by cleaning pens, yard work, etc. We may also have a time for family team building games and reflection on the day’s shared experiences. Each individual will work alongside a volunteer for a safe and positive “Roundup” experience.

How do I arrange to be a guest at a Roundup?
Go to “Guest Roundups,” for further information and to apply on-line. See our Calendar for specific dates. Other times are available by appointment for individual, family, group service projects, and tours.

Do you offer horseback riding lessons?
Although we offer horseback riding as one of our activities, those seeking a class to specifically focus on their horseback riding skills would be best served at nearby riding facilities.

Do you rescue animals?
Our focus is not specifically on animal rescue, but we are open to adopting healthy animals into our program, based on funding and space. If you have an animal you feel would fit well into our ranch, please contact us.

What should I wear?
We ask that everyone wear jeans and closed toed shoes. We have cowboy boots available to borrow. Helmets are also provided to use for horseback riding.

What should I bring?
We highly recommend sunscreen and bug spray during the summer months, as well as a labeled water bottle and hat. Packing a sweatshirt, jacket and a change of clothes for your home trip is suggested. Remember your camera! 🙂

Is there any paperwork I need to fill out to come to a Roundup?
Please fill out the required forms online:  Guest Registration and Liability Release forms. Our coordinator will contact you to confirm your availability and/or scheduled visit.  *****Each person visiting Guided Hope must have correctly signed forms in order to participate.*****

How much does it cost?
Roundups are provided free of charge! Donations are welcome and greatly appreciated. Detailed information on ranch needs can be found on our Wish List page or by submitting a donation through the menu link to your right. Although we are currently staffed almost entirely through volunteers, it costs about $100/day/person for additional ranch operations (i.e. feed, vets, maintenance, etc.).

Are my donations tax deductible?
We are an official 501(c)3 charitable organization.  Your generous donations are tax deductible.  Please see our letter from the IRS regarding our tax exempt status on our Donate page.

Do you need volunteers?

Where does your name come from?
Guided Hope is rooted in Christian principles of faith, hope and love. The name reflects our desire to be guided by God, His creatures, and caring community members to a place of hope in Christ.

Psalm 25:4-5 Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

Is Guided Hope a religious organization?
Guided Hope is not affiliated with any religious group or organization. Guided Hope is a faith-based program. Though the ranch is not associated with any particular denomination, the basis of our belief rises from the same Judeo-Christian values that our nation was built upon. The Founders and Board of Directors believe in a Sovereign God and the saving grace of His Son, Jesus Christ. It is our greatest desire to serve God by the demonstration of our faith through action. Faith on the ranch is demonstrated through “living example” to those we work with. It is our highest honor to serve children and families of all backgrounds with the same loving grace that has so freely been given to us.
