Time to put up hay!

Wow!  What an amazing summer we had!  We had hundreds of people join us as guests, ranch hands, and Wrangler volunteers!  Kids and parents alongside grandmas and grandpas of all ages got to work.  From spring arrivals of Nigerian Dwarf babies and fluffy chicks to the excitement of first time riders and returning families, we shared the chores and play together.  The Hope Trail is up and running!  Learning and fun await our guests with numerous interactive stations.  We look forward to sharing the season with you through pictures and stories in our upcoming newsletter.

The horses need hay!  We need help putting up 500 bales of hay this weekend.  Are you available on Monday, September 4th, at 1:00?  Join us for an hour or several.  All ages of Ranch Hands welcome.  Jeans, long sleeves, tennis shoes or boots, and gloves recommended.  (We have some available as well.)  Please let us know you’re coming. Call or text Kaarin at 303-898-5567.

Open Ranch Day Highlights!

Over 170 guests and volunteers enjoyed a day of fun in the sun together!  Although we had a snowstorm the day before, Praise God that Sunday afternoon was brimming with new and returning Guided Hope friends.  Kids and adults enjoyed horseback rides.  Baby goats got lots of hugs.  New chicks came out to play.  Llamas showed off their fiber.  Ace archers flew arrows.  Painters decorated barn boards and birdhouses for our new Hope Trail.  Not to mention cupcake decorating for Butterscotch’s birthday!  Many thanks to our amazing volunteers who gave their time and energy to keep everything safe and fun!  It was a blessed day.  We hope to see many families returning for summer Roundups!

Welcome, Jet!

Exciting news! “Jet” has joined our herd! This beautiful, big bay is actually a registered Paint horse, just like Butterscotch. As a former rodeo queen’s horse, he has been around crowds of people and loves the attention. He is careful to walk slowly for a beginner, yet easy to trot. He is ready for kids and adults alike to work on their horsemanship skills… as long as they spend time giving him grooming attention  He has been busy serving guests this month and learning the ropes from Butterscotch, Scout, Zeta, and Smokey. Come and meet Jet!

Butterscotch’s 30th Birthday!

It’s Butterscotch’s 30th Birthday!! We were blessed with this amazing horse as our first donation to the ranch when we started in 2012. He continues to be an incredible teacher to our GH kids. Although he is our tallest horse, he gives confidence to the smallest beginners when they first approach…calming any anxieties as they learn to groom, trust, and prepare for a ride. Yet, he has the experience and movement to put smiles on an advanced rider. Our Wranglers get their exercise keeping up with his extended trot! We are thankful that he continues to look and act like a horse half his age, and always has a heart to serve. Happy Birthday, Butterscotch! Thank you for the hope and encouragement you share with our guests. We love you and look forward to celebrating with you at a special Open Ranch Day on April 30th, from 2-4 p.m.! Stay tuned for details on Butterscotch’s upcoming birthday party 🙂

Serving at Guided Hope

Guided Hope has many opportunities to serve in 2017!

How can you help?

1)  From April 1st – May 28th, we will be building our Hope Trail!

We have been blessed with a generous donation for supplies and repurposed materials.  Now, we need you!  It is our hope to make this a community service project that will benefit our Guided Hope guests for years to come.  Our goal date for completion is May 28th, with our grand opening scheduled for June 10th!  More information about the Hope Trail plans may be found on our website blog.  Click here to scroll through the slideshow.

We need 1-2 men/older teens to serve alongside Guy for a morning, afternoon, or full day, to complete a number of “stations” on the trail.  For some of the projects, there is an option to build at your own property and bring the completed project t
o us to install.  Handymen, carpenters, welders, landscapers, and willing hands are welcome.  We are also […]
