Caramel is Back!
Caramel, our mama Alpaca-Vicuna, has returned to Guided Hope after a few years of enjoying life with her donkey friend. Caramel is Liberty’s mom. She had Liberty on July 7, 2012, which made her the first baby to be born on the ranch! They are excited to be reunited after all these years!
Both of Caramel and Liberty have beautiful fiber coats. We have blankets of raw fiber, roving, and hanks of yarn for sale! All proceeds go to our Guided Hope programs. Cocoa is our guard llama who roams the ranch protecting our critters from coyotes and other predators. Our “camelids” also double as “camels” for our Live Nativity in December! Their favorite treat is Equine Senior if you’re at the ranch for a visit.
Roundup for Foster and Adoptive Families
We have a special place in our hearts for foster and adoptive families. On Saturday, we cared for our sweet Animal Ambassadors, rode horses, and mucked stalls. At the end of the day, being “king of the dirt pile” ended up being one of the boys’ favorite things! We were thankful to have leaders from Colorado Kids Belong and Little Willows Clothing Boxes join us for this beautiful day on the ranch. We appreciate all they do for foster families in our community!
Grateful for Eagle Scouts
We are grateful for Eagle Scouts! On Saturday, Joshua and his troop landscaped Guided Hope’s office entrance for his Eagle Scout Project! With the help of his hard-working Boy Scout Troop and their parents, Joshua created a beautiful outdoor space for our staff, volunteers, and guests to enjoy! A BIG thank you to everyone who assisted with this job, and congrats to Joshua for completing his Eagle Scout Project! We are so proud of you!
Guided Hope in the Berthoud Surveyor
Thank you to the Berthoud Surveyor for featuring Guided Hope in this week’s newspaper. All ages are welcome to join us this Saturday, July 30, for our Farm Fun and Friendraiser!
Wheelbarrow Races, Collecting Eggs, and More!
We had a wonderfully busy weekend filled with learning, work, and fun! We collected eggs, groomed the horses, mucked the paddock, painted the office, cleaned up fallen trees, and enjoyed wheelbarrow races! Thank you to all of our guests and volunteers!
Making Friends Through Ranch on the Road
It was a special blessing to share our Animal Ambassador goats (Cherish, Pip, and Pudge) and bunny (Mocha) with our new friends today! We love how Ranch on the Road allows for in person interaction with those who either cannot come to the ranch or have yet to learn about how to get involved at the ranch. This form of outreach provides hope and encouragement to people of all ages. Our Animal Ambassadors provide comfort, smiles, and opportunities to share about animal education and God’s creativity (Psalm 104:24 and Romans 1:20).
Fun on the Farm
Roundup fun with our volunteer Wranglers and guests! All ages joined in to help do chores at the ranch. The playground sand was cleared of weeds and the horses were well loved. We learned about God’s amazing Animal Ambassadors on the ranch and helped care for the land and livestock.
